MJ price increases

All thanks to Donald Trump I’ll struggle to afford to move up the doses on MJ 😣 

Why can’t they leave UK pricing alone.  We all know drug firms margins are huge, this new increase is a disgrace and will ruin some people’s chances of weight loss , me included 😞 

I’m sitting here trying to work out the maths and it’s making me feel sick. Five grand a year for a med that so many of us literally need to stay well. That’s not a lifestyle splurge, that’s rent or bills money.

Honestly feels like they don’t care if people are forced to drop out.

I can’t afford these new prices so will look at switching to Wegovy. The big question is will Wegovy prices go up like Mounjaro? This is Trumps doing and I suspect an announcement is coming 🙁

@moot I really feel this. It’s such a kick in the teeth when you’ve put months into the journey and finally seen results. One month’s notice is nothing when we plan and pay ahead.

Hang in there. You’re not alone. Lots of us are in the same boat and it’s scary. Let’s keep sharing info on where prices actually land because we all need some hope right now.

Brilliant just as I’ve found something that works to not only help me lose weight but also improve my mental health it now looks like I’ll have to get a 2nd mortgage to be able to afford the magic of MJ!!!!

@obese-viking I looked all Lilly website in the USA. Zepbound (the MJ name there) pricing is totally like the pricing SlimrChat are saying. A nightmare. 

Here’s the info; Zepbound is available in 2.5mg/0.5mL, 5.0mg/0.5mL, 7.5mg/0.5mL, 10.0mg/0.5mL, 12.5mg/0.5mL and 15.0mg/0.5mL doses in a single-dose vial 4-count package for a direct-to-patient price of $349, $499, $599, $699, $849 and $1,049 respectively.³

Awwwwww not the news I wanted. I’ve been juggling my finances to pay for MJ so wondering how I’ll afford the joke that is the new pricing.

They will price so many people out of the market, don’t really understand why they would want to do that.

You’re right to be asking the question. The sharp rise in Mounjaro list prices was not about UK demand, it was Eli Lilly protecting higher prices abroad, particularly in the US, by making the UK less attractive for resellers. From their perspective it was better to take the hit here than risk undermining their biggest market.

Novo Nordisk faces the same pressures, so it would not be a surprise if Wegovy prices also climb. For now there is no confirmed announcement, but the dynamics are similar. We will flag it as soon as we see concrete news.

This is so depressing. I tried to order more this weekend but they’re out of stock. I have 1 pen left (12.5mg). Lilly have cause everyone to go crazy liek the toilet roll insanity during Covid. 

Kicking myself i didn’t start my journey a year ago as now super concerned I won’t be able to afford £5k a year for MJ! 😮 

My desire to reach a happy healthy weight vanishing in front of my eyes whilst massive drug companies make billions more in profit 😖

Ei Lilly you are a disgrace. So many people will now not be able to afford to lose weight in a healthy , sustainable, affordable way 😞 

Unfortunately, these price increases are likely to put it out of reach for many...me included. I have started to change my life around, I've lost 13kg so far and started to eat better and exercise more. I fear that without the help of the drugs I am going to go backwards....I had been so positive about my healthy future but now i am worried.

Beyond gutted by this news

So worried what I’m going to do as I’ve lost weight on MJ and been maintaining using low dose, not sure how Id manage without it…..

Looks like I’ll have to cut some other monthly expenses; 

- gym membership

- cinema 

- fun 

- shopping

and the list goes on just to afford MJ!!!!!
