Anyone seen todays news? The press covergae is super scary but actually the risks seem the same as the drug companies have always said. I'm stopping becuase of this for sure. What does anyone else think?

Yes I saw it too. The headlines are definitely designed to scare, but the whole picture is a lot more balanced.

The SlimrChat article explains it well: https://www.slimrchat.com/glp-1-weight-loss-drugs-and-pancreatitis-what-you-need-to-know/

I thought what Dr David Garley said really puts things in perspective: "All drugs have side effects, and it may be this number is within the expected range.

It is obviously something to take seriously, especially when considering the symptoms to watch for and ensuring that any medication comes from a reputable source. But for many people, these treatments are still making a huge difference. I am continuing, just being more aware and careful.

Interested to hear what others think too.

Agree with Dr David Garley; it’s all part of a bigger picture, and do we even know the ranges? The headlines are created to get clicks, so it’s paramount we have places like SlimrChat with a considered, objective response.

Good to see this being talked about calmly. The news was a bit alarming at first, but the SlimrChat article helped put things in perspective. I’m continuing treatment but staying mindful and checking in with my doctor. Still feel the benefits outweigh the risks for me. Curious how others are thinking about it today.
