Hi Everyone!

I take so many supplements now that I must rattle - Vitamins, lions mane, tumeric, nail and hair jellies, protein powders....I reckon I spend about £40-£50 a month.....am I mad, is it worth it???? I mean I don't suffer much but I don't notice any benefit. What are evryones thoughts on benefits of this stuff? anything that really works (or proven not to)????? xx

Moot, I’d simplify rather than add more.

If you live in the UK, vitamin D is the one I’d prioritise now that daylight is short. A good fish oil (omega-3) can also be worth it. Protein powder is only beneficial if you are not meeting your daily protein target through food, especially when you are in a calorie deficit. If resistance training is on your plan, creatine monohydrate is one of the few well-supported, low-cost options.

Everything else can creep into a pricey habit without clear benefit. I’d pick one or two with a clear purpose and pause the rest for a month to see if you notice any change. Worth checking with your GP or pharmacist if you have conditions or take meds.

Great advice - I did exactly that and found I saved about £30 a month and saw no difference. You get hooked on these things without seeing any discernible difference. Just my view, I know some people do see a difference

I take a multivitamin and a probiotic but I’ve done that for a long time and feel the difference so it works for me. I’ve been working hard to up my weights to build muscle as otherwise was thinning I might need a protein supplement.

i think it’s all on a case by case basis as everyone is different and depends how your nutrition is as to what supplements you may need.

i feel better for taking my supplements and do notice a positive impact but yea agreed try giving them a break and so if you got a positive or negative impact and then you will know 😃

I like a protein shake. I'm also eating a lot of chciken and turkey. It's a slog but it all helps.
