Hi 'hive' - thought i'd share this thought. I met up with a friend last week and she has been on MJ. She was a size 14 last time I saw her but she is now 12, maybe 10, and my first thought was "OK, you've lost enough now".
I get why people think this, i did because she just didn't look like her anymore......which was really unnerving...my friend didn't look like my friend!
I didn't hink this out of jealousy, but because she was a 'gaunt' version of herself. Her face looked too thin to me BECAUSE I'M USED TO SEEING HER DIFFERENTLY. If I met her as a new person, I wouldn't think twice, but it just felt too much.
Obviously I just told her how well she'd done, but I just wanted to share that not all of comments have sabotage/jealousy behind them, our brains are just wired to prefer the familiar. It made me think - we probably all hit these comments on our journey.
I know what you mean. I mean look at the celebrities who have gone waaaaay too far. The Osbornes etc. Most of my friends have been on MJ at some point now & we've all pretty good in saying STOP. thing is the drugs aren't addicitive but the feeling you get when your body changes def is!!
Agree. There are some who look morbidly thin. I guess we should all be looking at BMI / weight target and set ourselves limits - as long as you are within healthy weight/BMI then the way you look, is the thinner you I guess. But you have to stop, some people have gone too far for whatever reason and that is not good. We are all doing this becasue we want to be healthier - normal weight, healthier lifestyle etc and Being morbidly underweight can be as bad as morbidly obese.
Interesting point - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that!
