I still find myself having the odd ‘cheat day’ here and there and its mostly on day 7 since suppression is pretty much non existent. I feel like I am wasting all weeks effort by having a day of eating what I want and calling it a ‘cheat day.’ I know others have solved this by injecting every 5 days but I cant really afford to do so. Is anyone else having the same issue and how are you dealing with it?
I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much about the odd higher-calorie day.
At the end of the day, weight loss mostly comes down to calorie balance over time, not what happens on one specific day. If you’re still in a deficit across the week, a single day of eating a bit more isn’t going to undo everything.
There’s actually some science behind this as well. Some researchers talk about “refeed” or higher-intake days, where a temporary bump in calories can help counter the body’s natural tendency to slow metabolism during dieting. It’s not magic, but it’s one reason many structured diet plans include them.
Also worth remembering that day 6–7 hunger coming back is a very common experience with weekly injections.
Personally I’d look at the weekly pattern rather than the one day. If the overall week is still pointing in the right direction, you’re probably doing better than you think.
For day 6 / 7 I try to make sure I keep myself busy and always cook from scratch those days. That way I manage what I eat completely. Otherwise temptation is strong!!
