So...I’m in week 3 of my new routine (eating cleaner, smaller portions, staying off the biscuits… you know the drill), and now *bam*, premenstrual and it’s like I’ve been body-snatched. 😩

The food noise is unreal. Chocolate, crisps, toast with *actual butter*, all calling my name. I’m eating more but not feeling full or even satisfied. I know it’s hormones, but it’s seriously throwing me off and I’m gutted because I was starting to feel really good.

Anyone else go through this? How do you stay on track when hormones are screaming at you to inhale a multipack of Wotsits?

Support (or snacks) welcome x

I get this BIGTIME 😅

I call it my ‘Hormonal Hunger Week’ & it’s a nightmare. What helps me a bit is planning for it. I’ve started making a batch of protein muffins the weekend b4, so I’ve got something sweet-ish that doesn’t totally derail me.

You’re doing better than you think 💛

I love how honest these posts are. Cravings are a massive part of all this...& I think we all forget that hormones – stress, sleep, everything – all play into that.

I started keeping a cravings journal to see what's goign on with me. I write down what I want, when I want it, and what I was doing right before. Makes me see the patterns. 🙈

Maybe it will help if it's actual hunger or just hormonal mischief. Either way, don’t beat yourself up. This is all part of the ride.

Oh I am so with you Susie – had a cry in the loo last week over a chocolate orange that I nearly ate then didn’t. Felt like a win and a loss at the same time - hahaha 🙃

But here’s the thing I’ve learned: you don’t have to be perfect every week. Some weeks are just survival mode. Let yourself have a little of what you fancy if it helps you stay sane. It’s the long game that counts.

Also… sweet popcorn has saved me more than once. Volume without the full sugar crash.

Big hugs. You’ve got this 🧡

Oh @SusieBL, I so feel this. Week 3 is still early days and adding hormones into the mix is just brutal. I get that “possessed by carbs” feeling too – it’s like your body’s staging a biscuit-based rebellion.

What’s helped me is giving myself permission to adjust during that week. I build in a few ‘comfort’ options that still feel somewhat balanced – like a slice of sourdough with nut butter or some dark chocolate and strawberries. Not perfect, but it stops me from going full snack gremlin!

Also – echoing what others have said – this is totally normal. The fact that you’re aware of it and reaching out shows how committed you are. A blip isn’t a backslide. You’re still very much on track 💪

Sending strength (and virtual popcorn)
