Anyone got any tips for exercising @ home? I've read a lot about losing muscle when on Mounjaro. I really don't want to kid myself that I've lost weight but actually it's muscle and I'll immediately put it back on!!!
Hey BertieBea, I totally feel you! It's easy to worry about losing muscle instead of fat, especially with Mounjaro. I’ve been in the same boat.
For home workouts, I’d suggest mixing in some strength training with cardio. Bodyweight exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and planks can really help with toning and keeping muscle. If you’ve got some resistance bands or dumbbells, those can add a bit more challenge and help maintain muscle.
Also, make sure you’re getting enough protein. It’s super important for muscle recovery, especially when you're cutting calories. And don’t forget about rest—your muscles need time to recover and rebuild.
You're doing great by staying mindful of it all! Just listen to your body and adjust as you go. You’ve got this!
Wow @Tom_LDN you're all over it. I just have a 5kg dumb bell i do stuff with! Same sort of exercises plus I try to do 10k+ steps a day. So much better at home than in the gym. I've always found the gym full of people who look me as some sort of failure.
Great tips above 👏 I’m all about keeping it simple at home too. I do bodyweight stuff most days – squats, wall sits, push-ups, and resistance band rows when I can be bothered 😅
What’s helped me stick to it is short sessions – like 15–20 mins tops. Feels more doable and I’m way more likely to show up.
And totally agree with the muscle worry – staying active and getting enough protein has been key for me while on Mounjaro. You don’t need fancy kit, just a bit of consistency. You've got this! 💪
Hey everyone,
im a personal trainer and have been for 20 plus years so understand more than anyone how hard it is to be on monjaro & stay fit too!!
I’ve been taking jaro for a number of different health reasons and my clients have too! I find that fusing the two to block the food noise out is really helpful as well as trying to clean eat! We’re all human after all!!! If you can get yourself to Argos or even temu they do some real cheap kettlebells, mats & dumbbells! Try doing an all over body workout as although you do loose muscle on jaro the bigger you are the more loose skin you’ll get so if you can do at least 3 home workouts lasting no longer than 30/45 mins all weight based you’ll keep your skin tight. Some of my clients have got looser skin so concentrating on those areas has really helped shape up and get rid of that! Just if anyone wants any help. Good luck everyone 💙
Hi CJG!
Thx for the epic advice. I reckon most of us on SC know (love in my case) the food noise reduction on jaro. Such a big thing.
Your recos on weights is great. And brill cos it can be done at home
Loving the tips here – thanks @CJG for the expert input! 👏
Totally agree on the food noise point – Mounjaro’s made it so much easier to focus without the constant snack voice in my head 😅 That, plus getting a few cheap bits of kit (I got a kettlebell and resistance band set off Amazon), has made a big difference.
I’ve started doing 3 short weighted sessions a week – just 30 mins max – and I actually look forward to it now. Big shift from a few months ago. Let’s keep moving, crew 💪
Anytime happy to help out where I can 😊
Amazing Tom!
happy to help where I can!
if you need anymore tips just let me know!! ☺️
Lovin' these tips CJG. Do you have a link to an easy kettle bell video to watch? I go to an awesome pump class but I can't always make it and I really notice when I've missed a couple of sessions...
