Hey all – really need some reassurance here. I’ve been on Mounjaro (2.5mg) for 4 weeks now and haven’t lost a single kg. I’m sticking to decent meals, trying to avoid snacking, walking most days – but nothing’s shifting.
Is this normal?! Feeling a bit gutted to be honest. I know everyone’s journey is different, but I was hoping for *something* by now.
Due to step up to 5mg next week – but wondering if I should bother. Anyone else had a slow start and then seen results later on?
Hi Tom – yes mate, I was exactly the same. Didn’t see any movement until after week 6, once I hit 5mg. First month was a slog and I felt like packing it in.
But stick with it. My doc said the lower dose is more about letting your body get used to it than actually losing weight. I’ve lost 6kg since I moved up and appetite’s way down. Don’t give up yet!

What helped me was focusing on other stuff – I noticed I wasn’t obsessed with food anymore, and I had more energy. That gave me the motivation to keep going, and the weight did eventually come off around week 7. Keep the faith bro, you're not alone.

You’re right Jay, I’m definitely snacking less. Didn’t even realise till you said it, but I’ve not hit the biscuit tin in days 😂 Might try and focus on those kinds of wins rather than just the scales.
That’s the spirit! Celebrate those little wins – they add up. You’re changing habits, not just dropping numbers.
Also – don't stress about that 5mg step-up. Loads of us found that’s when the weight actually started shifting. Let us know how you go next week.
Tom – just jumping in to say I added a bit of strength training around week 5 and that seemed to give things a push too. Doesn’t have to be gym stuff – even bodyweight stuff at home. Made me feel better in myself, even before the scale budged.
Keep checking in, this space kept me sane early doors!
Quick update – just moved up to 5mg two days ago and appetite’s already dropped again. Feel a bit less bloated too.
Still no movement on the scales yet but feeling way more hopeful now. Appreciate all your replies – genuinely helped me stick it out. Let’s see what week 6 brings!
