Can Mounjaro really help with asthma?
A new peer-reviewed study published in Advances in Therapy has found that people with obesity and asthma who were prescribed GLP-1 drugs like Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide) experienced fewer asthma attacks and reported improved overall symptom control.
The research, led by teams from the University of Aberdeen and the University of East Anglia, followed over 400 patients across the UK and found a significant drop in asthma-related complications once they began weight loss treatment.

Another unexpected benefit?
This adds to the growing list of surprising health perks linked to weight loss jabs. Previously, Mounjaro has been linked to a reduced risk of dementia and even lower cancer rates in some groups.

As researchers note, carrying excess weight can worsen inflammation and put pressure on the lungs — both of which are known triggers for asthma symptoms. By promoting weight loss and reducing systemic inflammation, GLP-1 drugs may help ease the burden on the respiratory system.
