Mounjaro price increases and SlimrChat contributor’s TV appearance

Robert Price, Anna-Louise Dearden | Last update: 2nd September 2025

Not strictly a formal news piece, we’re still very excited to see one of SlimrChat’s contributors on the TV. The Mounjaro price increase chatter is still evolving, and Sarah Le Brocq, who spoke to SlimrChat earlier this year, is in on the debate. Here she is on This Morning, alongside Dr Nighat Arif, who specialises in women’s health and is a regular TV contributor

The Mounjaro UK price hike is here. More pharmacies have released their prices, some are already adjusting after watching competitors, and it’s all over the press – including a TV appearance by Sarah, who featured on SlimrChat back in June this year. Sarah talked to us about her weight loss drug journey, including her emergency gall bladder removal. Despite various side-effects and the operation, Sarah deemed the weight loss drugs worth it. She explained that she is on a 12 month fixed price weight loss drug programme that ends in January next year. However, her Mounjaro dose is increasing in price immediately by £220. Obviously, as it is for everyone, this is a major increase in cost that she is concerned about.

Sarah said she was considering moving to Wegovy, which she had been on at the start of her treatment.

Sarah Le Brocq Good Morning Britain SlimrChatDespite the price increases, and the possible treatment change, Sarah was positive about what her journey has done for her life and health. She explained that she has more energy, is more active and now has a life free of restriction.

As she said to us in June:

I’m currently on Mounjaro and have lost six stone in around 18 months. I feel great now. Better than ever!

She underlined the need for the NHS to increase access to the treatments to allow more people to benefit.

She, and Dr Nighat, reminded viewers that Wegovy and Mounjaro are prescription only medications. And as we always say, you need to consult your doctor, or healthcare provider, before starting the drugs.
