Mounjaro UK Price Hike: More Pharmacies Announce Prices as September 1 Nears
Peter Paumgardhen, Robert Price | Last update: 29th August 2025
The Mounjaro UK price hike is almost here. With September 1 just days away, more pharmacies have released their prices and some are already adjusting after watching competitors. The picture is becoming clearer, but the spread between providers is striking and the impact on patients is real.

A fast-moving situation that affects patients directly
SlimrChat is the community where people share their experiences of GLP-1 treatments and support one another. Over the past ten days, we have been working together to understand what the September change truly means for patients. For the estimated one million private users of Mounjaro in the UK, this remains the number one question.
On August 24, we published our first detailed estimates: What will the new price of Mounjaro be after September’s hike? That article explained how Eli Lilly’s list price increase would be softened by a new rebate scheme, creating a “discount price” that pharmacies were expected to use as the basis for their offers.
On August 26, we followed up with the first wave of announced prices. The early figures showed that most pharmacies were indeed clustering around the discount price, rather than applying the full increase suggested by the headline list price rise.
Now, with thirteen more pharmacies publishing prices and some revising their first announcements, we can see new patterns emerging. The situation remains fluid, but more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place.
Updated announced prices by pharmacy
The table below displays the latest published September prices from UK online pharmacies, along with the percentage change compared to the levels prior to the increase. Some providers are clearly using the discount price as a guide, while others are testing membership models or pricing closer to the list price.

Updated averages compared with SlimrChat estimates
Earlier in August, SlimrChat estimated price ranges for each dose based on the new list price, the rebate scheme, and the estimated margins pharmacies had previously set before the increase. With more confirmed prices available, we can now compare where the averages sit against those predictions.
If you prefer a table:
Main observations:
The averages are clustering in the lower half of the estimated ranges.
The difference between the cheapest and most expensive options remains wide, so comparing providers is still important.
Some pharmacies are reacting to competitors and revising their prices after first publication.
- With the latest announcements and adjusted prices, the average for the 2.5 mg dose is unchanged. The 5 mg dose has edged up slightly by 0.4%. At 7.5 mg, the average has moved down by 0.5%. The 10 mg and 12.5 mg doses are both 1.0% lower, while the 15 mg dose has seen the largest shift with a reduction of 1.2%.
Why this matters for patients
Behind the numbers are people who must decide whether to continue treatment. For many, the change means an extra £1,100 per year for Mounjaro prescriptions. That is a big increase for households already under financial strain.
Robert Price, founder of SlimrChat, explains:
“We have a lot of worried community members, and our role is to make this process easier for them. No single person can track all the changes, but together we can build a clearer picture. This helps people make real life decisions about their health and their money.”
SlimrChat in the national conversation
Our research has already reached a national audience. On 25 August, health journalist Louise Atkinson featured SlimrChat’s analysis in The Daily Mail. We are proud that SlimrChat’s work has been highlighted in this way.
The coverage also underlines the scale of concern about the Mounjaro UK price hike and the number of people affected.
