Foundayo
A new weight loss pill, called Foundayo, has been approved for use in the USA. This treatment has been developed by Eli Lilly, the company behind Mounjaro, and will be available from the 6th April in the USA.
Foundayo will be the second weight loss pill to be launched this year. The Wegovy pill was launched on 6th January in the USA, with a UK launch looking likely during the Summer.
What makes Foundayo different is how easy it is to take. Unlike the Wegovy pill there are no strict rules around when you take it or when you have food or water.
It can be taken at any point in the day, even after eating, which makes it an attractive solution for most of us.
Results
The early trial results have been encouraging. People on the highest dose lost around 12 percent of their body weight over 72 weeks.
Of course, that is lower than the jab options, but being so easy to take will help people to stay consistent during their treatment journey. Which we all know is half the battle.
The side effects well be familiar to the SlimrChat community. With nausea, diarrhoea and constipation reported by those on the trial.
Cost
Foundayo costs start at $149 a month for the lowest dose and $349 for the highest dose. These prices are similar to the Wegovy pill costs.
Take outs
If this daily pill delivers consistent results, it opens the door to a much wider group of people who may have been put off by the jabs.
