New analysis has revealed that UK patients could pay over £3350, or 72% more, for exactly the same Mounjaro treatment depending on which online pharmacy they choose – losing more £s from their wallet.
The research by SlimrChat.com – an independent weight loss drug community analysed prices from 110 UK online pharmacies and clinics registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Prices were collected from publicly listed information on 18 May 2026 and verified at the time of analysis.
Using a standardised 76-week treatment comparison model, SlimrChat found a huge difference in what patients could end up paying for their medication.
Key Findings
- Patients could pay up to £3374 more for the same Mounjaro treatment depending on which online pharmacy they choose
- The cheapest total was £4695, while the most expensive reached £8069 – an eyewatering 72% difference
- The average cost was around £5500 in total – meaning most could still save almost £800 by switching to the lowest cost provider
- To further highlight the difference in costs, there was a saving of £1247 over the treatment period when comparing a leading high street brand, Boots Online
- Doctor, to the lowest cost provider
The 76-week timeframe is not presented as a recommended treatment length. It is simply a standardised comparison period designed to allow a fair like-for-like comparison across providers. The timeframe aligns with the four-week dosing structure of Mounjaro pens, and reflects the length of treatment many people in the SlimrChat community report using while working towards their target weight loss. Most major clinical trials measuring the efficacy and safety of GLP-1 weight loss drugs have reported outcomes around the 68-72 week mark.

Robert Price, Co-Founder of SlimrChat – who used Mounjaro to support his own weightloss journey, said:
“The 72% variation in prices shows just how large the difference is for UK consumers using the same medication and must be questioned. People are making long-term commitments to improve their health, so they should be able to understand the potential costs and have transparency around prices to make informed decisions. While some offer treatment plans around medication – £3374 is more than twice the UK average annual dual fuel energy bill. As well as this huge price gap, there’s also a growing information gap that must be addressed – so pharmacies should display the difference between promotion-driven introductory prices and true long-term financial commitments. While many of us focus on the first month’s cost – we should all be considering what this will cost me over a year or more.”
To support greater transparency, SlimrChat has launched a free Mounjaro Treatment Calculator, allowing users to:
- Compare 100+ UK GPhC-registered providers
- Model costs over 52 weeks, 76 weeks or a fully customised journey
- Adjust time spent on each dose
- See total projected journey cost rather than just the first month’s price
