Another stone and a half off! Your jab life unfiltered…the follow-up

Last year Rosie Mullender, then 47, told SlimrChat even though she was on the weight loss jabs, she still craved pizza and fried chicken. The artist, freelance writer and author said that she started on Mounjaro in June 2025 and had already lost a stone (6kg/13lbs) in weight by August. The problem was, she was definitely still hungry. How does she feel now?

It’s been 10 months since your jab life unfiltered feature in August 2025. Could you give us a little update?

After the feature in SlimrChat the jabs started working really well, and I eventually lost 2.5 stone in seven months.

At one point, I moved from Mounjaro to Wegovy, the primary reason being the price.

When I hit my target, I  came off the jabs but I gained a stone back over the next three months. Now I’m back on the lowest dose of Wegovy, which has halted my weight gain, so I’m currently comfortably sitting at a healthy BMI (just about!)

If you could go back, what would you say to yourself at the start of the journey?

I’d tell myself not to come off the jabs completely once I’d reached my goal weight – although I did the right thing by giving myself a buffer of extra weight loss so I had a bit of leeway. I didn’t realise how strong the food noise would come back, and how hungry I would be as soon as I stopped the jabs! I even started shopping a lot more, as if the jab had tempered all my impulses, rather than just the one to eat. Now I’m back on the lowest dose of Wegovy, the food noise is back under control (as is the shopping!), but I wish I’d gone back on the jabs sooner.

I think I’ll be on them forever now, but that’s OK.

I’m hoping the tablet version, when it’s approved in the UK, will be cheaper.

What have been the best, and the worst parts of the journey

The best part of this whole journey has been reclaiming my old wardrobe – I recently wore a summer dress I’ve owned for years but never fit into before. I received lots of compliments from strangers, which was wonderful. My confidence is sky-high, and I’ve started going to the gym regularly too, focusing on weights.

Being stronger as well as slimmer feels fantastic, especially when I’ll turn 50 next year

– it’s a good time to be my best self. I’ve been this size before, but only when I was heartbroken and depressed, and being slim and happy at the same time is a revelation.

While I was on the higher-dose jabs, I did get a bit fed up with not being able to eat properly – when I went for an expensive birthday meal that I could barely eat, and picked at Christmas dinner (usually my favourite meal of the year), I found it quite disheartening. But I’ve found that on the lowest dose of Wegovy I can eat plenty when I fancy it but the food noise is gone, so it’s the perfect compromise for me.
