I felt I would be judged and so many say it’s cheating. Your jab life unfiltered

Pre diabetic and with borderline high blood pressure, Jayne Bluck, an accounts clerk from Worcester knew she had to do something. But with no willpower and a big snack habit, she wondered if the the weight loss drugs would help

Why did you decide to start slimming jabs – and what was your turning point?

(We love a lightbulb moment – big or small.)

Like many people, I needed to lose weight for my health. I was pre diabetic and had borderline high blood pressure, but was struggling to lose weight on all the other diets. Mainly due to no will power and I liked going out eating and drinking too much.

Also I loved snacking in the evenings, so when I heard about the jab, I thought it sounded perfect.

What surprised you most when you started?

(Be honest. We’ve heard everything from burping air to crying over chips.)

Well it surprised me how quickly it started suppressing my appetite and took away the food noise which is talked about a lot.

I felt I would be judged and so many say it’s cheating.

What’s your jab routine like now – pen, time, tricks?

(Do you set an alarm, use a Post-it, or just wing it?)

Well I am currently maintaining and micro dosing, but I do need to stop in the very near future as it’s too costly. I always take it on a Sunday, since I started my journey.

Who has been the most supportive person in your WLD journey?

(Mum, bf, total strangers?)

My partner. I didn’t tell friends and family for quite a long time and nobody asked how I was losing weight so I didn’t disclose that it was Mounjaro as I felt I would be judged. So many say it’s cheating but I disagree as I just had to change my lifestyle and I struggled to do that without the help of the drug.

What’s your go-to comfort food now – and what’s out?

(Pasta forever? Chicken ick? We want it all.)

To be honest I still eat a bit of everything I like but I am just more careful and don’t over eat.

I also cut down on my drinking which is a big factor as it’s just empty calories.

Best thing you’ve gained – besides weight loss?

(Confidence? Shoes you can finally lace up? Energy to argue with your partner again?)

My confidence and self-esteem flourished, but just feeling nicer in clothes that I can now fit into  is great. I can now go and try on clothes in actual shops, which I never did before losing weight. But more importantly, I reversed my pre diabetes and my blood pressure is now normal, which is fantastic.

Anything you wish someone had told you at the start?

(Newbies, take notes.)

Maybe that my hair would shed, but even with that, to be honest, I wouldn’t change using Mounjaro. The benefits have outweighed everything, and the results speak for themselves.

I felt I would be judged and so many say it’s cheating.

What’s your take on the whole easy way out chat – and have you adjusted your lifestyle too – fitness/nutrition etc.?

(Be honest. It helps our readers cope.)

Yes I have adjusted my lifestyle with swimming and going to the gym. I even started wild water swimming which is very liberating. As for chatting about my journey, I am happy to talk about it now and I don’t care what other people think.

I have done what’s best for me and I would never change it .

What’s your next goal?

(Could be to run for a bus or dance at my daughter’s wedding – or come off the drugs and carry on with a lifestyle change – whatever matters to you.)

My next goal is definitely to come off Mounjaro and just maintain and carry on being proud of myself for what I have achieved.

Finally – give us your one-liner SlimrChat wisdom?

(What would you write on a Post-it for the next person starting out?)

Best thing you will ever do!
