We’ve contacted Prescription Doctor after spotting what looks like a small but important pricing mismatch for Mounjaro.
On one part of the Prescription Doctor website, the Mounjaro 2.5mg starter dose appears in the “Review More Prices” section at £169.99.
But another pricing table on the same website appears to list the same Mounjaro 2.5mg starter dose at £179.99.
That is a £10 difference for the very first dose.
Not exactly a jaw-dropping pricing scandal. But it is exactly the kind of thing that can make comparing UK weight loss treatment prices more confusing than it needs to be.
What we found
When reviewing Prescription Doctor’s Mounjaro pricing, we saw:
- Mounjaro 2.5mg listed at £169.99 in one price section
- Mounjaro 2.5mg listed at £179.99 in another pricing table
- The rest of the dose pricing appearing broadly consistent in the table we reviewed
We have asked Prescription Doctor to confirm which starter dose price is correct.
Until this is clarified, SlimrChat will continue to show the higher listed price of £179.99 in our Mounjaro Price Tracker. That feels like the cautious and fair approach for our community.

Why a £10 difference still matters
It is easy to shrug and say: “It’s only a tenner.”
But the starter dose is often the first price people see when they begin comparing providers. It can shape the impression of who looks cheaper, who looks more expensive, and where someone may decide to start their treatment journey.
And with GLP-1 weight loss treatments, the real cost is rarely just the first month.
Most people are looking at a longer journey across several doses, which means clarity matters from the first price point onwards.
This is not about having a go at Prescription Doctor
Let’s be clear. This is not about attacking a pharmacy over a small discrepancy.
Prescription Doctor is far from the only provider where prices can appear in more than one place. In a fast-moving market, with changing prices, starter offers, dose changes and product updates, it is easy for pricing tables to fall out of sync.
But from a patient point of view, the result is still the same: confusion.
And confusion is exactly what SlimrChat is trying to reduce.
What we want to see
We think UK weight loss treatment pricing should be easy to understand.
That means people should be able to quickly see:
- What the starter dose costs
- What later doses cost
- Whether a price is promotional or standard
- Whether the same price is shown consistently across the provider’s website
For now, we are waiting for Prescription Doctor to confirm the correct Mounjaro 2.5mg price.
We’ll update our listing when we hear back.
Because when you are already trying to understand jabs, doses, side effects, titration schedules and long-term budgeting, working out the price should not be the bit that makes your head spin.
